A couple of days ago a new record was revealed that pointed to the return of the series of Splinter Cell. Now, a few moments ago, Ubisoft has confirmed that a remake of the first title is already under development of the Toronto Division.
The Remake of Splinter Cell is being developed from scratch using the Snowdrop engine from Ubisoft, the same one that is currently being used in avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, as well as the next STAR WARS game of the company. This will allow the use of new generation images and gameplay, and dynamic lighting and the shadows by which the series is known.
This was what Matt West said, the producer of this project:
Although we are still in the early stages of development, what we are trying to do is to make sure that the spirit of the first games remains intact, in all the forms that gave Splinter Cell its identity. Then, while we built it from scratch, we will update it visually, as well as some design elements to match the convenience and expectations of the player, and we will keep it linear as the original games, not making world open.
Similarly, This statement has indicated that the rumors of an open game were erroneous. There is still no launch date, but in the future we will have additional information. We just hope that this project looks better than the Remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. On related topics, Ubisoft enters the NFT market.
