The release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 still has some flaws, and this time over the players. Available since October 28, Infinity Ward FPS has benefited from a small cleaning with thousands of banned players. The problem is that several of them were banned for using some illegal program when it was not really that.
Active Blizzard excludes thousands of accounts by mistake?
During the two Beta phases of Modern Warfare 2, which occurred last September, Activision announced that Ricochet had excluded no less than 20 thousand accounts and later, other waves of banishment occurred. Yes, but now, in the lot of these thousands of accounts, it seems that some players were playing quite legitimately.
Tom Henderson , a well-known member of the Call of Duty community and games in general, revealed through one of his latest articles that Activision sent an email announcing to players that they were banned for using non-legitimate software and /or game data manipulation.
According to Tom Henderson, but also one of the answers to his tweet highlighting his article about this phenomenon, unfortunately it seems that on the list of software declared as non-legitimate by Activision, some are legal . For example, the AFTERBURNER (which is an MSI utility) has been considered cheating software. This means that several players had their accounts deleted for no reason .
So far the responsible companies have not yet given their opinion on their accounts unfairly banned. Some players are likely to be able to recover them, but this does not add positively to the game image.
The moment for the company is Ambiguous, as MW2 was a success of sales and profit, contrasting with a process they are receiving from a hotel in Amsterdam that was supposedly introduced in the game, with the name exchanged, but preserving its architecture.
